Living The Booky Life...

Murder Most Unladylike

Murder Most Unladylike - Robin Stevens The Book was written to simply and I'm not very fond of books like that. I didn't mind it much but it's not a favourite. I liked the mystery It was laid out nicely but Daisy got a bit annoying at times.. It was a bit slow. The end finally came. I didn't find my self skipping any chapters or passages so I guess it wasn't too boring. My first book of 2016- not so good.

Feel the Fear

Feel the Fear - Lauren Child The book was okay. I was expecting so much more action. I enjoyed it no matter what. The mystery was great the storyline was good too. I guess it was just not up to my standards. I hope the next book will be even better.

Framed

Framed - Frank Cottrell Boyce It was an okay book. I think it was a let down. I have read Cosmic and I really enjoyed that and this book was nothing in comparison to Frank's other books. A disappointment!

Chinese Cinderella: The Secret Story of an Unwanted Daughter

Chinese Cinderella: The Secret Story of an Unwanted Daughter - Adeline Yen Mah It was a very sad book. With the tragic event of her mother dying a few days after her birth, Adeline's start to life was already destined to be doomed. With only her Aunt Baba giving attention to her, Adeline is already a very depressed child. Later on , Her Nai Nai dies and this was someone close to Adeline. With already, tow tragic happenings in the short time of Yen Mah's life, you couldn't think of anything worse. Seeing as her mother had dies, she has a cruel and wicked, step mother. It just so happens that in The real Cinderella the 'step sisters' are rude and here the 'stem mum' is rude. Many things happen but the ending was most satisfying. A great but sad book. Excellent Masterpiece.
SPOILER ALERT!

The Maze Runner

The Maze Runner - James Dashner The only reason I picked up the Maze Runner was because I had heard about the movie Scorch Trials coming out! So, I thought I’d read the series. I’m more of a book person and not the movie type. I felt like the book was for me. I had read the Hunger Games and apparently it was ‘ a must read for The Hunger Game’s fans. Turns, out I, love the book and here’s why!

I loved The Maze Runner! Starting off in a box, I was really confused about why everyone loved this book. I mean really? It seemed pretty boring at first. It was like a normal book- nothing amazing about it. Then, I was whisked off to a mysterious and frightening place called ‘The Glade. There came so many mysteries and questions that you just wanted to know all the answers. The Glade was confusing, but Dashner didn’t leave you hanging on too many questions just so that you would keep reading.I loved learning about the new world and everyday Thomas would get further in finding out more about the mysterious place. I was hooked by the book because I think there were so many concepts and ideas that you became fascinated. After a while, it kind of got repetitive- he would wake up and do the usual stuff until Teresa came along.I loved the idea of telepathically communicating. This was when the book was actually starting to get its plot.

I felt as If I were Thomas.I had so many theories about the maze and being a runner. At one point, when Thomas was trapped in the maze, I thought it was the end for Thomas but it wasn’t. I was quite annoyed by The Changing. Nobody told Thomas about it and no-one ever talked about it either. It kept bugging me because I really didn’t understand it. Then he solved it all. Finally, I know a lot about The Maze.I loved the idea of the Grievers and The maze, but the Changing still haunts me! :) I loved the mystery. Teresa, The maze, the code, the escape, their purpose all seemed so real. I think It was an amazing book and the characters were all so different and unique.

My favourite character was Chuck. Alby was just a bit annoying to be honest, I mean really? He didn’t believe Thomas. Milo was a great character along with Newt who I thought was just a really good-natured person. The thing is I hate Gally. I know it wasn’t entirely his fault, but that doesn’t change the fact that he was so rude and I just didn’t like his character. I loved the ending, but Chuck dies.It felt so sad when Chuck dived in to save Thomas and I just wished it never happened.

Altogether the book was just so good! The new world had so many features I really recommend this book and it received 5 stars on my Goodreads. An adventure-packed book full of many twists and turns along the way. I can’t wait to read the next book! The Maze Runner was fantastic and I hope Scorch Trials will be even better!

Book Reviews And London Zoo

Hello, guys.

You know how I said i was writing a review for nerdy book club.

Well, I’ve finally done it.

I’m going to let you guys be the first to read it.

Even before it is shown on nerdybookclub’s website, you will get to have a look at it.

Hope you enjoy:

Book Review

I also read a really good book called Dear Future.

I really recommend it!

Also, I wanted to share with you guys my amazing trip to London Zoo.

I saw many animals such as:

Kangaroos, bats, Penguins, Tigers, Gorillas, Reindeer, snakes and turtles.

My favourite thing was Butterfly Paradise.

It was beautiful.

Butterflies were everywhere and some even landed on me.

It was very hot inside, but I forgot all about that when I saw a beautiful green one.

I also bought some things as souvenirs.

Sadly, I didn’t manage to see the lions.

Another great thing was the monkeys.

They were so cute!

I recommend London Zoo.

Well, that's it from me and I HOPE YOU ENJOY YOUR DAY. :)

Millions of exciting things to do!

I was thinking about the summer holidays which I know are going to be boring so I thought I better plan some things to do.

I thought that it would be great to share some ideas with you guys so you don't get bored stuck at home with nothing to do.

So every day I will post about some things to do and what I will do.

So My first idea is to set a target of how many books you are going to read that summer.

You have to reach that target.

This was a great idea but I don't know what to read so I found this great website:

http://www.goodreads.com/

You don't have to sign up.

However, if you sign up and add books you have read then it will give you recommendations based around those books.

So that's already one thing to do.

My next idea was to go somewhere nice: just for a nice day out. Some suggestions: A theme park, Hollow pond( which is where I went last year) or just somewhere nice that you like. If you want to have a look at my experience at hollow pond, click on this link:

http://meandcookies.blogspot.co.uk/2014/08/hollow-pond.html

Thirdly, I was thinking of having a project to work on.

It could be about anything you like: history, art, sewing, space or something you enjoy.

You could make a presentation about it and show your friends and family.

Another great idea is to grow a plant.

It could be anything a flower, or something to eat.

check on your plant everyday to keep your self busy.

Start writing a poem or story.

You don't have to publish it.

Keep reading my blogs and follow my blog to  find out what to do in your holidays.

TV shows, books, websites, stuff and great ideas!

Hi guys, I haven't posted in a while. And there is loads of stuff I need to catch up on.

So first I'm going to start off with Tv shows and I wanted to say that I have been watching this year's 2015 Great British Bake-Off. I love baking myself so I obviously love this show. Also, I have been watching a few episodes of Dragons Den which I'm enjoying even though I'm not into business myself.

Next, I'm going to talk about books. Right now I am reading Chinese Cinderella and it's not too bad but very sad. And I'm to deciding to read Maze Runner and I have heard a bit about the Scorch Trials.

Thirdly I want to talk about some websites that I have found or some apps. Grammarly. It is just a spell checker but can also be used for other useful purposes. Also, Pitkochart, where you can create your own comics wich, is pretty cool. Both very good websites. Another great website is  my study life and it is great for students as you can set homework reminders and have your very own timetable and much more.  And lastly, I have found a very good website  for creating and making and that is Hello Wonderful.

Last but not least, I have a great idea for a massive creation but I still need to work a few things out please tell me in the comments if you would like to know and give me a book recommendations or tv shows or any ideas about anything.

Follow to find out more about stuff!

My birthday

Hey Guys,

I know I haven't posted for a while but school's nearly over and my birthday's coming up.

I wonder what presents I'm going to get this year. I'm  hoping for lots of presents and some good books especially.

Also, whilst I have been thinking up my birthday wish list, my house has been transformed:

new windows, new doors, and a lick of paint.

Our house is looking really good.

Panoply is my new favorite word before it was bubbles or haberdashery.

Also, panoply means a collection of things-in case you were wondering. :)

innocentdaisyes.wordpress.com is a great blog :)

Feel free to comment if anything exciting happening to you whenever.whatever :)

A few days ago, I took a trip to my local high street.

I brought these incredibly cute playing cards from a charity shop.

They are really good and really cute.

Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of them to show you but they are from paper chase which are really good for stationery. http://www.paperchase.co.uk.

I'm reading Harry Potter again and I'm absolutely loving  it even though I know what's going to happen next.

According to the weather forecast,  the sun has finally come and  t is going to shine brighter than ever!

Summer is on its way so no more gloomy mornings. Hopefully, it won't change till winter! :)

Also please check out. innocentdaisyes.wordpress.com an amazing blog.

Good books to read.

Hey, guys, I have no idea what to write about but I want to keep you guys updated and I want to keep posting blogs.

So, currently I am reading The Amber Spyglass.

It is the third and the last book in His Dark Materials series: so far so good!

Also, I’m writing a book and if you want to read an extract from it, then keep on reading my blogs!

I would love to share my trip to the library with you.

Well, I borrowed about 5 books and I like all of them but the one I really think I will enjoy which is: The Tin Snail.

It’s about a 13-year-old who builds a car. I’m hoping to get started on it tomorrow, but that’s if I have enough time.

Any more books to recommend?

Feel free to share. :)

I have found another great blog: eloquenceinsilence.wordpress.com also have to remind you that innocentdaisyes.wordpress.com has posted two new blogs.

I hope you guys will check them out!

Wishing for Tomorrow: The Sequel to A Little Princess

Wishing for Tomorrow: The Sequel to A Little Princess - Hilary McKay What a letdown. I just think it was a bit of a disappointment as Sarah is not the main character. You don't to get know about what happens to Sarah and Becky and also the events that happen in the school with just the girls are pretty boring as they are just everyday things and constant letter writing was a bit annoying because you just wanted the story carry on and it just stretching the book out a little bit. The only letters that I looked forward to were Sarah's, but hers were so short and Emengrade's seemed to last forever. You kind of wanted it the other way round and it seemed like Sarah didn't really care about the girls anymore, but she was too polite to show it. Also, it was kinda hard to get through and the only thing keeping me going was thinking it's going to get better. It clearly didn't.In my opinion, the first book was better and it was a shock that Miss Minchin dies. I know it's nice that a book has a happy ending, but it was a little too happy and I think that Frances Hodgson Burnett(the original writer) wouldn't have let that happen. It's a shame that Mckay made it too happy. But then she also kind of twisted it with making it seem like Emengrade's fault so I guess that maybe piped it down a little bit. If this was not the sequel to 'little princess' then I would have never thought of reading this book and even if I did I wouldn't even think of finishing it. The story was so long and slow and uneventful. I thought this book was going to be about Sarah nd her adventures and her experiences with her dad and Becky in India. but instead, it was about the school and Emengrade and her interests and life. In conclusion, this book didn't do 'A Little Princess' justice.

London!

Hi Guys, I went to London today!! It was really fun. We went on the Tower Bridge. We also went on a ferry which was really amazing as we got to see London Bridge and some other bridges.:)
